If you are a legal resident of Agua Dulce, you can run for office - putting your qualifications and expertise to good use in our community.  The Agua Dulce Town Council meets once a month, and consists of seven members elected by the community of Agua Dulce to act as their representatives with local, County, State, and Federal offices. It is vital to the community of Agua Dulce and the wonderful rural lifestyle we enjoy here that we, as a community, stay politically active and have a voice in our future.  Candidate Eligibility requirements:  1. Legal residence must have been within Agua Dulce (per the Charter boundaries) for one (1) year prior to registration for candidacy. Must be registered with the County of Los Angeles to vote in Agua Dulce for one (1) year prior to registration for candidacy.  2. All candidates shall pay a non-refundable $50.00 application fee. Make checks payable to the Agua Dulce Town Council Election Committee.  3. No candidate shall be a current member of the Agua Dulce Election Committee.  Responsibilities of the Agua Dulce Town Council (per its Charter):  • To serve as a common meeting place for the free expression of all views and for the coming together of diverse opinions into a consensus  • To discuss issues concerning Agua Dulce, and to invite participation by the public, civic, and private organizations  • To serve as Agua Dulce's representatives and to speak on behalf of the community  • To review public and private proposals that may affect the community  • To neither support nor oppose any political party or candidate  Applications will be printed in local newspapers and made available to people at the following businesses: Agua Dulce Hardware and Maria Bonita Restaurant, as well as the Town Council website, http://www.aguadulce-ca.com/AD_TC.html.  For more information, contact: The Agua Dulce Election Committee, 33201 Agua Dulce Cyn.
