REVISED STANDARDS September 12, 2007, the Community Standards Revision (CSD) Committee recommended the Town Council start the approval process by forwarding the working document to Regional Planning for review. The Town Council approved that recommendation. Click here to view the submitted working document. BOUNDARY CHANGES Los Angeles County Regional Planning Department is hosting a community meeting on Wednesday, January 30 at 7:00 PM at the Women's Club. The purpose of the meeting is to determine the wishes of the property owners in the contested boundary areas. There are a number of boundary area property owners that have indicated a desire to be included in the Agua Dulce District. Those property owners are invited to attend the meeting and state their reasons for inclusion. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can send your comments to Mitch Glaser at Regional Planning via e-mail at: mglaser@planning.lacounty.gov If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact CSD Revision Co-Chair, Lorene Cangiano via e-mail at lcangiano@chomg.com WHAT IS A CSD? Los Angeles County Code allows a community to implement special development standards to more closely control the growth and change within the community. These communities are called Community Standards Districts and their community standards supersede the general provisions of County Code. In 1985, the residents of Agua Dulce adopted a few broad standards and guidelines with the intent of protecting our unique environment. WHY IS THE CSD BEING REVISED? Our small town has experienced significant growth in the recent past from both individual and group development projects. The existing CSD document was written many years ago in order to provide broad guidelines for preserving the rural character of this community. Due to the ongoing need to maintain a balance between community growth and preservation of our rural lifestyle, the CSD has been reviewed and a revised draft created based on input gathered over the last ten years. Changes have been incorporated in the current CSD draft in order to formalize past recommendations and provide guidelines that effectively address the current development environment. The CSD Revision Committee appreciates your community participation and partnership in developing a final document.
